Finland – Money for Nothing is a 23-minute observational documentary on Finland’s basic income pilot that was broadcast on BBC World TV and the BBC News Channel in March 2018. The film is built around four Finns in the experiment: the film-maker visited them twice, in summer 2017 and winter 2017, to find out what effect basic income has had on their lives.
Erika Benke is a senior broadcast journalist with BBC News based in London. She has been with the BBC for 20 years, producing stories for radio, TV, online and social media. She is planning to return to Finland at the end of 2018 to see what happens to her four case studies when the experiment is over.
Erika Benke will be present for a short Q&A session after the screening of her film.
