The documentary “UBI, Our Right to Live” talks about the right of all human beings to subsist by the mere fact of being born. It is an idea already with history, but which has spread spectacularly in recent years, especially due to the fact that technology threatens to leave most of the population without employment to cover their needs. The documentary is composed mainly of interviews not only done with the founders, who have been working on this idea for more than thirty years, but also with academics and activists, who tell us about their activities and experiences around the world.
Álvaro Orús Andreu (born in Huesca, Spain, 1962) started to produce educative documentaries in 2002 with the historical series “Faros de la humanidad”, dedicated to the historical moments of cultural synthesis and knowledge development. His past three documentaries have the common denominator of addressing the difficult topics of our existence (death, grievance and revenge) from a hopeful perspective.
Álvaro Orús will be present for a short Q&A session after the screening of his film.
