Ilma Korponay-Szabo is a full professor of paediatrics at University of Debrecen in charge for gradual and postgraduate education of health care professionals in the field of pediatric gastroenterology. She is a member of the European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) Celiac Disease Study Group, and Celiac Disease Guidelines Working Group. She serves as a secretary of the Hungarian Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology. Her research interest in celiac disease includes autoimmune features, antibodies and biological and structural properties of the autoantigen, transglutaminase. She participated in several international research programmes on celiac disease, including PreventCD, TRACKS, TRANSCOM, nPOD and ProCeDe.
